Symposium: The Right to a Public – Working with TV Archives, Sep. 23, 2020, Arsenal @ silent green
On September 23, 2020, the day long symposium The Right to a Public – Working with TV Archives organized by Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art and in which HaFI participates, will take place in silent green Kulturquartier. Participants will discuss the possibility of turning TV archives into “living archives” and making their collections available for research and cultural education. The panel A Useful Library of Images is dedicated to Harun Farocki and his collaboration with WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk). As part of the symposium and within the arsenal 3 program, the WDR-commissioned film ON DISPLAY: PETER WEISS (1979, BRD) by Harun Farocki will be streamed together with the unused film material from the HaFI archive ON DISPLAY: PETER WEISS.
