From a letter written by Joachim von Mengershausen to Harun Farocki, printed with WDR letterhead, January 26, 1976: “In short, I think one should mobilize some energy to make the film archives of TV as public as libraries, with all that this entails: decent forms of archiving, documentation of dates of origin etc.; so what is at stake is at least partially an expropriation of television, which should not be too hard to find political arguments for.”
